Interviews are controlled using Ecamm Live’s Interview window. Grab our Interview Guest Checklist to make sure you don’t forget a thing during tech checks. Guest screensharing requires a Mac or PC running Google Chrome. Wearing headphones is not required, but typically results in better audio quality. Guests do not need the Ecamm Live app or an Ecamm Live subscription.

Chrome is the recommended browser for Mac or Windows PC. To join an interview, we recommend a Mac or Windows PC running Safari or Chrome, and at least a 5 Mbps internet connecton. If you are not using headphones, be sure to turn on Echo Cancellation in the Sound Levels window.

The rest of the system becomes pretty slow, if I want to type a message in discord or chat while streaming it takes a second or 2 for that app to become usable. Turning it off made it go back to normal. OBS filters seem to overwhelm the system, I tried using a built-in OBS filter to deal with the background noise and my stream started to drop lots of frames. It never happens mid-stream though, if it's working at the beginning of the stream it'll keep on working. It's a simple re-select from the drop-down but it's annoying if I forget before starting the stream and then I have to fix things on-stream.

I don't think I've ever had it crash, it's been pretty solid even 5+ hours into a stream.Īt least a couple times a week when I start OBS one of the USB connections is lost, either a camera or the audio. I've never used a windows streaming setup so don't know if they run cooler there. Its hot, fan is usually running hard and the temp is 80+ C. I also record my streams which might add additional pressure on the CPU/GPU. I use krisp.ai to filter out background noise from an AC I have running to try to keep the room cool. SW: I try to close everything not needed so that the only thing running is OBS, discord and chrome. HW: 2018 i7, 64gb ram, egpu w/AMD RX580, live gamer ultra (USB) capturing XBOX X 1440p/120hz, 3 monitors (2 1440p, 1 4k scaled to 1440p), 3 web cams. I'm pretty quick to change techs if something is bugging me and nothing about it bugs me enough to switch. it works and works pretty well for me, there are minor hiccups but I don't know if they are specific to the Mac version of OBS or something specific to my setup.
